If you’re thinking about a Golden Chick investment opportunity and are wondering what some of our restaurant franchise costs are, we’re proud to say they’re all-inclusive, meaning they account for just about everything you’ll need to get your franchise started. They also represent three unique ways to do business as part of the Golden Chick family, each with its own costs and advantages. Here, we’ll take a brief look at the different models to choose from as a Golden Chick franchisee, as well as some of the restaurant franchise costs associated with our opportunity.
Initial and Ongoing Fees
To begin with, no matter which restaurant model you choose, you’ll be asked to pay a one-time initial franchise fee of $30,000, which grants you the right to do business under the recognized Golden Chick name, and gets you immediate access to our time-tested business model. All franchisors charge this one-time fee, and ours is one of the most affordable in the franchise sphere! It’s this initial restaurant franchise fee cost that also pays for the comprehensive pre-opening training you’ll receive that’ll bring you up to speed on just about everything you need to know about running your Golden Chick restaurant.
After you open, you’ll be required to pay a monthly 4% royalty fee (the lowest of any chicken restaurant franchise!) against your gross revenue along with a 3% advertising fee, 2% of which is spent exclusively in your local market to create campaigns that will consistently reach your best customers. Our attention to this and other work we do behind the scenes will free you up to focus on customer service and growth!
Our Three Models
Once you’ve paid your initial franchise fee, we’ll help you open your new restaurant, one that will conform to one of the following three options:
- Conversions: Representing our most economical investment, with this format, an existing building is converted to a freestanding Golden Chick franchise with a drive-thru. Because you won’t need to factor in many of the construction costs that come with our other location concepts, your initial investment will be between $440,950 and $838,000. Choosing this concept is a good idea if you currently own property that might be well suited for a Golden Chick restaurant.
- End Cap Locations: Much like freestanding conversions, end cap locations don’t typically require extensive construction, in part because they’re built into larger retail complexes like malls or shopping centers and don’t stand by themselves. These smaller locations are part of existing spaces and represent an investment of between $445,950 and $846,000.
- New Freestanding Locations: Brand-new locations are just that — new restaurants created from the ground-up, with lots of potential because they’re built to our exact specifications and designed to last for decades. They’re located in retail corridors with other traffic generators, such as major grocery stores, home improvement centers, or other services, have plenty of parking, and are easy to access. Because these restaurants are brand new, they represent the higher end of our chicken restaurant franchise cost, meaning you can expect to pay between $893,870 and $1,348,500 to get this concept going.
