Anyone who has enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Texas State Fair knows how special this traditional yearly event is, and how it’s often the only chance to enjoy meals and snacks that aren’t usually available. Over the years, tens of thousands of fair-goers have happily stood in line (sometimes for hours!) to taste the iconic goodness of a Fletcher’s Original Corny Dog, a long-time fair favorite that’s unavailable anywhere else. In fact, Fletcher’s sells an average of 500,000 Corny Dogs during the annual fair season!
But what happens in a year like this year, when sadly, there is no fair due to the COVID-19 pandemic? Anyone looking forward to a Fletcher’s treat might likely have to wait until next year – that is, unless they visit a Golden Chick restaurant! That’s right — Golden Chick, an iconic brand in our own right, has partnered with Fletcher’s Original Corny Dog to bring Fletcher’s delicious Corny Dogs to many of our restaurants, and we couldn’t be more excited. From now until October 25th, we’ll be serving Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs at 187 Golden Chick restaurants throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
“Like many others, we were disappointed to hear that the State Fair was cancelled, and after the year we’ve had, we could all use a little comfort food,” said Jim Stevens, President of Golden Chick. “While we always serve Original Golden Tenders, Fletcher’s is the creator of the Original Corny Dog, and what better way to make the two fan favorites widely available than to serve them both at our restaurants and in our drive-thrus.”
The teams at both brands couldn’t be happier about the partnership and are working side by side to make sure Golden Chick guests can enjoy the same hand-battered, made-to-order Fletcher’s product they’d otherwise indulge in at the State Fair.
